What is Freeform Dance
Freeform (Ecstatic) Dance is a DJed Wave Dance on a peak sound system. It starts slow & melodic, builds to a climax peak and comes back down to stillness. This is therapeutic for the body, releases blockages and allows you to go through a journey and healing.

Freeform dance is a form of dance in which the dancers experience freedom to move. Without the need to follow specific steps, abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them.
This allows the dancer to lose insecurities around dancing or needing alcohol or substances to feel confident.
The dance is guided in parts, to connect the student to their body & emotions. No talking on the dancefloor, enables the students to go within themselves on a personal journey. Feelings of discomfort are expected and subside throughout the dance.

Working with Special Needs
Kimba Jade has been working with Special Needs children at schools and the benefits have been outstanding. Most of these children have much more energy and most are not afraid to be themselves and express themselves through dance. The way Kimba Jade guides these dances is to really activate the playfulness of these children. Bring about emotions through the different stages of the wave dance, as well as bringing them together to shadow dance moves and bring about connection.
About Kimba Jade
DJ, Teacher and Kinesiologist - Kimba Jade has been DJing for over 20 years, taking people on a journey via melodic music that moves both bodies and hearts. Based in Sydney for 7 years, she played professionally in clubs, until moving back to NZ, where she discovered Freeform Ecstatic Dance and the power of dance on a conscious level.
Kimba brings her unique way of teaching and guiding into schools, as a professional DJ who is on a conscious level, without the need for a party lifestyle.
Kimba Jade’s passion is teaching. In particular, teaching students the art of DJing and dance. Having worked with kids for 15 years as a Kinesiologist, as well as in Kindergartens, she knows the gift of teaching how to release their judgement of themselves, and step into their uniqueness.
Kimba Jade runs Alchemic Dance Floor - Ecstatic Dance Festival as well as Divinyl (ladies spinning Vinyl). Is part of the duo DJ act Quantik, and teaches others how to DJ and run dance events. She has been seen touring at festivals and dances in NZ, Australia, Europe and the USA.
